Employment Law

I deal with employment matters on an everyday basis as counsel to several Ontario corporations.

As you may review on my experience page, I was counsel to the Senate of Canada Internal Economy Committee for many years between 2005-2015, where I dealt with numerous large and small scale employer-side issues.

In my private practice I regularly represent terminated employees. I have represented every type of terminated employee including high-level non-union federal employees, and commission-based sales representatives on a number of occasions.

Regardless of your employment issue, a free discussion would help.

Below you will find my published case comments on a number of Canadian decisions:

Duty to mitigate: there is no duty to mitigate if the termination clause contains a fixed compensation amount for without-cause termination
